Broken JP-8 and Tech Recommendation

Postby RoccoD » Sat Jun 18, 2011 11:16 pm

Ok, I've had this board for almost two years now and have gotten limited use out of it due to its fragility..even as a studio queen. It has had its issues and has been at the tech already for a problem with the board randomly going into initialization state and subsequently wiping out the memory. The processor chip was replaced and the battery was replaced. Now a year later I'm having the same issue.

Who is the "Wine Country" tech(s) for the JP-8 in the states? I'm looking for a no BS specialist who will be able to repair, replace, and calibrate the entire unit to factory specs.

East coast would be preferred.

Come on JP-8 bretheren, sing to me...

Check the ribbon connectors. I had the same problem, mainly due to ribbons not seated properly... I also recapped the power supply which I believe did some good as well

Havent had a single reboot for about a year
