Duran Duran sounds for Jupiter 8V

Hi, I just joined this group and although I only have the Arturia JP8V (which works well enough for me) I am wondering if anyone has made any Duran Duran sounds for specific songs they would be willing to share.

I used to use the VariOS with Jupiter 8 software and had a bunch but sold it without backing things up and am starting over. So any time savings would be great.

Thanks in advance,

Unfortunately I don't have any... but how would you compare the VariOS JP8 software to the JP-8V?

The startup procedure for the VariOS was a bit of a process. Once running the sound quality was really good, easy to edit visually and store sounds. I had no complaints. But I wouldn't have wanted to use it live. If there was a power failure or spike and I had to reboot on stage it might have taken a little too long for me.

The Arturia VST Jupiter 8V was a great alternative. Sound quality is about the same as the VariOS and unless you actually own a Jupiter 8 I doubt people could tell the difference. A&B a real one with the software and obviously you can hear it, but a crowd of people, in a club, drinking, who aren't musicians, let alone keyboard players who love vintage analog one knows what you are using.

The update Jupiter 8V2 is a lot more stable and I use it live without any issues from my MAC.

Studio I would use either, live I will only use the Arturia.

And now to get to work re-making a bunch of sounds for Duran songs.

Whoah, are you telling the VariOS would take longer to reboot than a computer in case of power failure?

Well the VariOS would boot right up but the Jupiter 8 for the VariOS was software based so it took both the VariOS and the Computer to be booted up. You also had to start the VariOS by holding certain keys while turning on to access that part of it.

I did have the VC card of the D-50 for the VariOS as well which basically turned it into a D-50. This was great and booted right up into it and ready to go. I think if Roland has released a bunch of these cards for some of their classic synths the VariOS would have been great.

I also use a MAC for on stage performance of tracks and softsynths and it boots really quickly with no driver issues at all. So solid and reliable. The JV8 runs perfectly on it.
