Have you replaced any capacitors yet? You might just need to do that.

Just out of curiosity, why do you need to replace it?

I just installed it in my JP4 and it was very simple. As you might guess it works in tandem with the keyboard interface by piggy backing on the voice assigner card where the connections to the keyboard are. The back of the JP4 is particle board, so you can use a wood bore to make the hole rather tha...

Cutting Lacquer with the Jupiter 4, 6 and Prophet 5

A friend of mine has his 1947 record lathe and Presto 1C cutter working and I had the honor of doing the first cut with him. This is a short tune featuring a Jupiter 4, Jupiter 6 (europa) and Prophet-5 rev 1. Here is an mp3 of the record: http://redmartian.com/vinyl/under-orbit-mono.mp3

You will need to open it up with the power off. I recommend you not power it on until you do that and resolve what ever damage was caused. You'll want to check that all the interconnects are snug and that the boards are not loose. Look for damage on the boards such as cracks, if you have those, they...

With version 2 I've found that I've lost arpeggio clock in stability. I've confirmed this by booting into Roland mode where I can supply the same clock the arpeggio steps properly. With Europa 2.0 it skips and introduces pulses no matter what rate the external clock source is or what multi/div I hav...

Any update on this? I need to dig into my JP-4 soon anyway and would go ahead and do this. I was originally going to do the CV in mod which has been floating around for years, but if the results of the midi conversion are good I might do both of them at the same time.

Is the EV-5 powered? Kevin would probably know best, but I'm going to guess you would need voltage on the pot, but also remember that pedals don't always give you the full range you'd expect. Sometimes you can modify pedals to physically increase their range. I did this on a doepfer pedal which requ...

You were there so you know how wood quickly became out of fashion. Still, if the Japanese designed the JP-8 and -6 with wood sides they would have been simulated grain printed on paper glued to particle board. I personally like the brushed aluminum and I'm glad to see that they're available now. Now...

I'd be really curious to hear your take on the quality. Most JP sides are pretty beat up these days. Its hard to tell from the picture in the auction, but I'm guessing that these may have a more shiny look to them.
